Looking to learn more about the team behind sift? We are a team of graduating designers and engineers from Imperial College London. We’ve been working together effectively for several years now, building out strong technical skills in UI/UX design, web development, branding, and business strategy. As a team we can draw on industry experience across sectors including; design consultancy, tech startups, and fintech firms. We are now ready to combine our skills, drive, and vision into our own exciting venture!

Sam Castle

Executive Officer

Sam loves a bargain - any tool for saving cash he’s probably tried it!

Before founding sift, Sam lead big budget design projects at design consultancy dreamteam design and engineering solutions in industry at Textron Inc. When not working at sift, Sam is either making music or up a mountain somewhere.

Ted Kane

Technical Officer

A self-proclaimed eBay expert, Ted has shopping second hand down to an artform.

Prior to founding sift, Ted worked in Digital Solutions at Jacobs Engineering where his time was spent optimising machine learning algorithms. At the weekends, Ted likes to get out on his bike or can be found shredding to Jimi Hendrix.

Jack Polturak

Commercial Officer

Jack loves collecting retro tech but doesn’t have the patience for crawling through eBay for it.

Before sift, Jack worked at design consultancy ELSE, making user interface designs and video marketing assets for big brands, such as O2. On his time off from sift, Jack can be found spinning the decks at the club or competing in a triathlon.

Alex Gibson

Design Officer

A frequenter of Camden’s thrift markets, Alex loves getting deals on vintage clothing.

Leading sift’s branding and image, Alex has experience working for Artificial Intelligence start-up Emotech as a web developer. In his time off, Alex is a swimmer and loves to play the piano.

Freddie Seidler

Finance Officer

Freddie has his eye on sift’s road ahead and its rainy day fund, building relationships with industry experts, investors, and retailers.

Bringing strong financial expertise to the team, Freddie previously worked in strategy and innovation at private bank and wealth management firm Coutts. When not working on sift’s strategy, Freddie is a keen marine conservationist and may be found teaching scuba diving.
